Jump start your banjo building adventure with these awesome rims suitable for constructing open back banjos. Great for beginners and experienced builders alike. These rims are highly durable and sound great with or without a tone ring.

These are 12-ply rims with a total thickness of 8.4 millimeters.

The standard depth is 2 and 3/4 inches. Custom depths are available.

Available for 12 inch (actual outside diameter is 11 and 7/8 inches).

Available for 11 inch (actual outside diameter is 10 and 7/8 inches).

Basic Rim

The basic rim has a flat edge on top and bottom. Suitable for a rolled brass tone ring or custom shaping – $50 for either 11 inch or 12 inch rim.

Bearing Edge Rim

The bearing edge rim has a sharp angle cut into the top edge of the rim where it meets the head. This delivers a nice crisp yet woody sound. The bottom edge of these rims has also been has been rounded for comfort. – Base price plus $25 for either 11 inch or 12 inch rim with free shipping in the lower 48 states. All other locations will have a shipping charge. So the total cost of one of these would be $75.

Pre-Drilled Rim

The pre-drilled rim has holes drilled for 16 shoes. These are readily compatible with grooved tension hoops. Custom drilling is available. – Base price plus $25 for either 11 inch or 12 inch rim. So the total cost of one of these would be $75.

Bearing Edge and Pre-Drilled Rim

This rim has the bearing edge and has been pre-drilled for 16 shoes. – Total price is $100.

Free Shipping in the Lower 48

All rims ship for free in the lower 48 states. Most other destinations will have a shipping charge.
